The next
Manchester HR Exchange, hosted by
Taylors and 10Eighty, will take
place on Thursday 12 September 2013
at the Imperial War Museum North.
As the modern workforce changes,
employing a diverse workforce is
inevitable; bringing with it
innumerable benefits to your
business; a workforce comprising
employees from different cultural,
racial and generational backgrounds
encourages new ways of thinking and
working, creating exciting
opportunities for the organisation.
Managing equality and
discrimination is therefore of even
greater importance; employers must
ensure workers are treated fairly,
meaning it is essential for all HR
teams to be fully equipped with the
necessary skills to ensure the
workforce is managed effectively and
within the law.
The session will begin with a
review of the important recent
developments in Employment law,
which will be delivered by
Will
Clayton, Head of Employment at
Taylors Solicitors.
Mark Wright of the Equality and
Human Rights Commission will talk
about the UN Guiding Principles on
Human Rights and the obligations on
all UK SMEs and employers under the
Principles.
Dave Harrison from event Partner,
10Eighy, will discuss the benefits
of employing a diversified workforce
to the talent management process.
The event will also include role
play scenarios which will be
followed by a group discussion and
feedback from the employment team,
together with the opportunity for
delegates to share their experiences
of handling equality and diversity
issues within their organisations.
