Manchester’s
new quarterly forum for HR
professionals, The HR Exchange,
successfully launched this month
with over forty industry
professionals attending it’s first
event ‘Social Media: The Good, The
Bad and The Ugly’.The
morning event was organised by
Taylors Solicitors and held at The
Imperial War Museum North. It
included an employment law update
from Will Clayton, employment law
partner at Taylors, and guest
speakers from two of Manchester’s
growing businesses - career and
talent management company10eighty
and computer forensics firm Cy4or.
The format of this, and future
events, includes the opportunity to
network with other HR professionals
and share best practice by
discussing real-life case studies.
HR professional Teresa Wagstaff
from OCS Group UK Ltd said ‘This
morning’s social media event has
been informative and thought
provoking. It’s helped me reflect on
my own policies and procedures and I
liked the fact it gave a holistic
view of the topic. It was presented
in a short and punchy way and the
case studies helped provide real
life and practical examples that you
can take back to your workplace. I
will definitely be attending future
events.’
The HR Exchange runs four events
a year in both Lancashire and
Manchester; the next Lancashire
event will be held in September and
Manchester event will be in October
– both cover the topic of
auto-enrolment, compulsory
retirement and age discrimination.
