Join us for our next Lancashire HR Exchange event taking place on Thursday 18 September at Brockholes Nature Reserve, Preston.

The topic of this event will be Health at Work, an area which affects all employers and employees in today's fast-paced and, at times, demanding workplace.

We'll look at the Government's new Health and Work Service which is due to be launched in October and consider just what it will mean to employers.

We'll also talk you through what you need to know on the legal aspects of managing long term sickness amongst your employees. It's a topic that we've been asked to cover by many of our regular delegates, so it seems it's an issue affecting many organisations.

Our guest speaker for the event is Celia Gaze, the Managing Director of The Wellbeing Farm, the multi-award winning corporate hospitality venue, located in between Blackburn and Bolton in the Lancashire countryside, which has been purposely designed on the principles of encouraging health & wellbeing and managing stress in the workplace.

Celia set up The Wellbeing Farm in early 2013 after having worked in the NHS at senior manager level for over 14 years, during which time she managed a number of high-profile projects across the Greater Manchester and Lancashire region. Her own personal experience of suffering with work-associated stress led her to want to learn more about the condition and she has since qualified as a stress management and organisational stress management trainer.

She will talk about her personal experience of work-related stress and the European Agency for Safety and Health's campaign - Healthy Workplaces Manage Stress. Stress is the second most commonly-reported work-related health problem in Europe and the cause of more than half of all lost working days. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the positive effects that dealing with pyschosocial risks can have on overall business performance and encourage more organisations to actively manage stress amongst their workforce.

There will also be the ever-popular Employment update on key issues and changes to legislation affecting employers, as well as the opportunity to network with other business owners, managers and HR professionals.

To book for the event, go to www.thehrexchange.co.uk and reserve your place online.
