The North
West’s only solely commercial law
firm has been appointed by Lifeline,
the national drug, alcohol and
treatment advice service charity.
The brief will see Taylors advise on
all employment law, business
strategy, commercial and
reputational matters.
The Manchester based charity
provides a diverse range of services
for young people and adults across
the North West and North East,
Yorkshire, London and the Midlands,
including recovery and peer
mentoring, harm minimisation, day
programmes, prescribing and shared
care, community detoxification
services, criminal justice and
prison initiatives.
The charity had previously worked
with Taylor’s Head of Employment and
partner Will Clayton. Following his
move to the business in December
2011, Lifeline was keen to continue
the successful working relationship
with him.
Commenting on Taylor’s
appointment, Ian Wardle, Chief
Executive of the Lifeline Project
said:
“Will has been Lifeline's
principal legal advisor for over
15 years and during that time
has not only been an integral
part of our success, but
provided us with great
creativity, resourcefulness and
above all shown great loyalty
and integrity."
"Our move to appoint Taylors
will not only allow us to
continue to benefit from Will’s
counsel but take advantage of
Taylors wide ranging experience
in commercial law and we look
forward to working with the
team.”
Will Clayton, Head of Employment
and Partner at Taylors said:
"Over the years I’ve seen
Lifeline grow from a relatively
small but leading edge
Manchester force to become a
highly regarded and respected
national provider of drug and
alcohol advice and treatment
services."
"I'm delighted that I will
continue to act for the business
– the work has great variety,
quality and purpose; the
management team is extremely
hard working and dedicated to
what they do and it is a
pleasure to work alongside
them."
Elaine Hurn, Senior Partner at
Taylors said:
"The UK public sector service
provision is growing more
dependent on third sector
organisations today than ever
before. It is a strong and
important sector of our regional
and national economy and one
that Taylors recognises as
important for the future
development of the firm."
