David Bailey PartnerRole
David is a highly experienced commercial property litigator.
He acts for a number of property investment / holding
companies with UK-wide portfolios dealing exclusively with
all their property disputes. His wide experience of acting
for commercial landlords makes him just as effective "on the
other side" when advising tenants. He is highly regarded as
one of the leading property disputes specialists in
Lancashire. David is known for his tenacity, enthusiasm
and attention to detail. He is well regarded by clients for
delivering good results on time and on budget.
Experience
A graduate of Sheffield University Law School, David
trained in in a city centre Manchester firm before joining
Taylors in 2004 where he has quickly risen through the
ranks, being promoted to Partner in June 2010. He is
experienced in the following areas:
- rent arrears
- dilapidations/disrepair
- building disputes
- issues regarding security of tenure for business tenants
under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
- general landlord and tenant (e.g. distraint, forfeiture,
alterations and improvements)
- rights of way
- boundary disputes and adverse possession
- professional negligence claims involving property
- claims by utility companies
- trespass/nuisance
Profile
Whilst clearly ambitious, David has his feet firmly on
the ground. He still makes time to help out on the family
chicken farm in the Ribble Valley. His main interests
outside of work include mountain walking and attending music
gigs of bands no-one has ever heard of. He lives in Preston
with his wife and young daughter.
